Research Interests
My early research was in the fields of electron spin and nuclear magnetic resonance with resulting publications in J. Chem. Phys. and Am. J. Phys. Later my interests turned to x-ray physics, the physics of liquid crystals, and crystallography with publications in Mol. Cryst. Liq. Cryst. More recently I have been working under grants to improve the teaching of physics in high schools and intermediate schools. I have developed many low-cost physics experiments for introductory physics. I recently developed a kinetics car for lab use. The car leaves a timed, permanent ink trace on a paper track resulting in ample data to perform most of the standard kinetics experiments. To date, twelve experiments have been written around the kinetics car.
