Undergraduate Programs
Offered at both our Hattiesburg and Gulf Coast campuses, the
department's three undergraduate degrees provide students with
a solid, liberal arts background and the chance to specialize
in American Government, American Studies, Law and Administration,
Paralegal Studies, Global Politics, or Theory and Methods. These
Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree programs provide an excellent background
for students considering law school, graduate school, management
training programs, work in the public sector, or a position with
a non-profit. All of our degree plans are noteworthy for the
variety of course offerings, high level of personal contact with
the faculty, and the integration of active learning methods into
many of the courses. |
Graduate Programs in Political Science
and International
Policy and Development
The Master of Arts & Master of Science degrees
are available at both the Hattiesburg and Gulf Coast campuses.
The programs feature small class sizes and substantial opportunities
for independent research. Graduate seminars are typically small
(rarely larger than 15 students per section) and focus on development
of student abilities in the areas of critical analysis and writing.
Students select two areas of focus from among the department's
four specialities: American Politics, Global Politics, Law and
Administration, or Theory and Methods.
Most courses offered within the International
Development Ph.D. Program include the content and
academic milestones of a traditional on-campus doctoral program,
but in a more flexible delivery format. IDV Ph.D. Program.
