Tim Hampton is running for Congress in the 4th district as a
libertarian candidate and is looking for some volunteers. see below.
Dr. Bekafigo
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________
We need most of the campaign positions filled, and in the meantime
several of us are pulling double- and triple-duty in order to keep
things moving. It would be really nice though to have individual
people responsible for most of this, that way me and Brownlee in
particular can focus more on our respective roles in all of this.
Positions:
Finance/Fundraising Chair
Press Director
New Media Director (think about it like a press director for Facebook,
MySpace, Twitter, and other social media sites)
Webmaster
Grassroots Coordinator
Campaign Legal Advisor
Volunteer Coordinator
Get Out The Vote Supervisor
...and probably some others that I can't remember right now off the
top of my head.
Here's the requirements for finance/fundraising chair:
Should be on board before the Candidate announces publicly. (this
deadline is almost past, since I'm publicly announcing April 10th at
the MSLP convention)
Will help put together a Finance Plan detailing how the funds are to
be raised. He/she should help raise the money and find others to join
the Finance Committee.
Helpful for the Finance Chair to be financially secure, with financial
connections in the community.
Helpful if he or she is well regarded within the community. However,
the Finance Chair has to be someone with more than "just the name."
Has the time to devote to the campaign. Because the fundraising aspect
of the campaign is so crucial to the success or failure of the overall
effort, the finance chair can reasonably expect to put in at least 20
hours a week or more if they have no one else helping them. Can
possibly expect 15 hours a week if they have a significant number of
people calling their contacts and going through the phonebook to call
and ask for donations.
Requirements for Press Director:
Coordinates all activities with the Press. These activities
could include:
Writing press releases,
Monitoring the newspapers, radio and TV campaign coverage,
Holding press conferences,
Arranging for the Candidate to meet individual journalists.
Keeping in constant contact with the New Media Director and Webmaster
to make sure that campaign press releases and information are
disseminated online.
Tim Brownlee is the Campaign Manager and any questions about the
positions listed above should be directed to either him or myself.
His email address is campaignmanager@timhampton.com and his phone
number is 601.550.7603 (cell). My campaign email address is
me@timhampton.com and my phone number is either 601.466.3179 (cell) or
601.450.5683 (home).
Thanks,
Kenneth "Tim" Hampton
