STUDENT ACCOMPLISHMENTS
 

 

The Mississippi Paralegal Association (MPA) is proud to announce the following winners of MPA's Student Essay Contest for 2008:

    1st place – Shelly Herrington, University of Southern Mississippi

    2nd place – Kristi Droge, Holmes Community College

    3rd place – Kimberly Pemment, University of Southern Mississippi

Each winner will be receive one year of free Student membership in MPA, which includes a subscription to MPA's newsletter, "The Assistant," in which the essays are published; a free one year subscription to Facts & Findings, a publication of the National Association of Legal Assistants; and monetary awards of $300 to the first place winner, $200 to the second place winner, and $100 to the third place winner.

Two of our undergraduate students, BRIAN WHITMAN and MARIKA SMITH, were accepted for internships with the Institute on Business and Government Affairs in Washington DC sponsored by The Fund for American Studies.  They each also won a $3000 scholarship to attend.

BRITTANY BOLDEN: MA program in International Relations at Brunel University in the United Kingdom. Also an intern at the State Department, currently at the United States Embassy in London.

KATIE McBRIDE: This Political Science Junior will be interning for Gene Taylor's office this summer in Washington D.C. Congratulations!!!

MEREDITH BRECKENRIDGE: Congratulations to this graduating senior off to Switzerland for Grad School on scholarship!!!

KRISTEN EIDMAN and CONNIE MILLER: Congratulations on obtaining your Master's Degree!!
