Allan McBride, Ph.D.

Associate Professor, Chair of Political Science, International Development & International Affairs

Allan McBride is from the Midwest, but has lived in the South since 1985. His undergraduate and master's degrees are from the Univeristy of New Orleans, and he completed a Ph.D. in political science at Southern Illinois University in 1983. He held teaching positions in Illinois, Iowa, and Lousiana before coming to USM in 1996. His research interests include political culture, communication, and behavior. He teaches American government, research methods, statistics, government and the economy, and popular politics. He is married with four grown children and four grandchildren.
