Scholarship Application 

Evelyn Gandy Political Science Scholarship Endowment- The purpose of this fund to award a scholarship to an outstanding junior or senior Political Science major with a 3.25 GPA who is planning on studying law.  The recipient must be a graduate of a Mississippi high school with high academic ability and a demonstrated interest in public service.  Evelyn Gandy scholars receive the cost of tuition, room and board, and textbooks. 

Kristin M. Smith Scholarship Fund - The purpose of this fund is to provide an annual scholarship in the amount of $500.00 to a female Pre-Law student beginning her junior year.  

Leon and Ivah Wilber Scholarship - To provide funding to an outstanding freshman female student and an outstanding senior female student who plans to do graduate work at USM.

Frank D. Montague, Jr. Paralegal Studies Endowment - The purpose of this fund is to provide a scholarship to an incoming junior majoring in Paralegal Studies.

Alfred Moore Pre-Law Endowed Scholarship - The purpose of this fund is to provide a scholarship to a junior or senior studying Pre-Law and who clearly demonstrates financial need.

William Colmer Scholarship - The purpose of this fund is to provide a scholarship to a full-time American Studies major.

Bill Porter Memorial Scholarship Endowment - The purpose of this fund is to provide a scholarship to a Pre-Law major.

Trent Lott Scholarship - The purpose of this fund is to award a scholarship to a Mississippi resident that exhibits leadership in the university and community.  The student must be a Political Science major with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA.

Richard Wayne McKenzie Scholarship Endowment - The purpose of this fund is to award a scholarship to a Pre-Law studentfrom Forrest or Perry County who has a 3.0 GPA.  If no student from Forrest or Perry County meets the criteria, the scholarship shall be awarded to another qualified Pre-Law student.

Gerald A. Mumford Political Science Annual Scholarship - The purpose of this fund is to award a scholarship to an African-American student majoring in Political Science with a minimum 3.0 GPA and who demonstrates financial need.  Preference will be given to a student from Hinds, Rankin or Madison County who has an interest in pursuing a law degree.

Ronald G. Marquardt Endowed Scholarship - The purpose of this fund is to provide a scholarship to an outstanding Pre-Law Poltical Science major or Paralegal Studies major who has completed 60 hours of university credit.

Jim Robertson Political Science Award - The purpose of this fund is to award a scholarship to an entering student (can be a freshman, transferring junior college student, or new graduate student) majoring in Political Science who has shown academic promise at his/her previous educational pursuits.  Special consideration will be given to a student who has encountered a significant challenge in pursuing his/her studies.  The endowment was established in honor of Jim Robertson who is an inspiration to all who would overcome obstacles.

Karl Wiesenburg Scholarship Fund - The purpose of this fund is to award a scholarship to a student majoring in Political Science with preference given to a student from Jackson County, Mississippi.

Atly Graham Economics Scholarship - The purpose of this fund is to award a scholarship to a major in Economics.
