B.S., Polymer Science and Engineering

The first degree of its kind in Mississippi, the B.S. focuses is education and research in the areas of structure and processing of polymeric materials, and how these relate to properties and performance.

The program includes core courses offered in the B.S. in Polymer Science in addition to the following engineering core and elective courses:

  • Statics
  • Engineering thermodynamics
  • Structure/property relationships of polymeric materials
  • Electronics
  • Polymeric nanomaterials
  • A capstone course on polymer engineering design consistent with Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) guidelines for achieving accreditation
