Jobs for Graduates
Position: Polymer Synthesis Postdoc, University of Colorado at Boulder
We are requesting applications for a postdoctoral research associate for a functional polymer membrane design project. The position requires background and expertise in organic polymer and/or monomer synthesis. The research is a combined project involving Prof. Doug Gin in the Chemistry & Biochemistry Dept. and Prof. Rich Noble in the Chemical & Biological Engineering Dept. at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Only applicants with U.S. residency, or foreign postdoctoral researchers with a valid visa who are already in the U.S., will be considered for employment since this is an immediate opening.
The objectives of this research project are to fabricate new membrane structures based on functional ionic liquid/polymer and polymerizable ionic liquids; and characterize their fundamental gas, liquid, and vapor transport properties. The polymer phase may contain a liquid crystal component to generate nanostructured ionic liquid-based polymer membrane materials.
The salary rate for this postdoc position will be commensurate with typical postdoc rates. Interested applicants should send their C.V. and arrange to have two letters of recommendation sent by e-mail to Prof. Rich Noble (nobler@colorado.edu) or Prof. Doug Gin (douglas.gin@colorado.edu).
