The objective of this role is to develop a strong internal competence in the area of polymer design, synthesis, characterization and formulation and to use this competence to develop novel and differentiated Contact Lens and Contact Lens Care materials

Education   Ph. D. in Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry or Organic Chemistry

Experience:

  • 3 - 10 years of work experience in the area of polymer design, synthesis and characterization is desired.
  • Knowledgeable in all contact lens characterization tools and methods: Surface, bulk, thermal, mechanical, etc.
  • Excellent technical communication skills
  • Experience in the area of medical device research is a plus

The Getty Conservation Institute (GCI) is pleased to announce that the application for our next Post Doctoral Fellow in Conservation Science is now available online.  The fellowship is a two-year program designed to provide recent PhDs in chemistry and the physical sciences with experience in conservation science. The 2015-2017 Postdoctoral Fellow will be an integral part of the GCI Science Department's newly-formed ‘Treatment Studies’ research area, working also with colleagues in related research areas, such as Materials Characterization.
