Category 5, a faculty woodwind quintet of School of Music faculty at The University of Southern Mississippi, will present its first concert since touring in Brazil at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 7 at Marsh Auditorium on the Hattiesburg campus.
The performers include: Danilo Mezzadri, flute; Anna Pennington, oboe; Jonathan Holden, clarinet; Kim Woolly, bassoon; and Heidi Lucas, French horn. The concert will feature standards of the woodwind quintet literature, including Jacques Ibert's Three Short Pieces and Elliot Carter's Woodwind Quintet, as well as the Suite from Ancients Airs and Dances by Ottorino Respighi. The ensemble will also perform the Aria and Quodlibet by Arne Running and feature two world premieres by the American composers Charles Ruggiero and Phillip Schroeder.
