Retired University of Southern Mississippi journalism professor Dr. Gene Wiggins, left, talks with Southern Miss alumna Nan Kelley, a television personality on the Great American Country network, prior to Thursday’s annual awards banquet for the School of Mass Communication and Journalism. Kelley was the keynote speaker for the event, where she was inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame.

A Hattiesburg native, Kelley graduated from Southern Miss in 1988. She is host of GAC’s “Opry Live,” “The Top 20 Country Countdown” and other network specials, including the annual “Academy of Country Music Red Carpet.”
