HATTIESBURG
- The University of Southern Mississippi's Office of the Provost
includes two new staff members with longstanding ties to the university
and the Pine Belt area.
Sheri Rawls
and Megan Tousignant recently joined the Title III-A Strengthening
of the Institution grant project team. Rawls and Tousignant will
be providing instructional design and training services respectively,
at the Center for Education and Learning Technologies (CELT) located
in Owings-McQuagge Hall, Room 103.
Rawls, a graduate
of Southern Miss who has a bachelor's degree in environmental design
and a master's degree in instruction technology, has been named
the instructional designer for the CELT. A member of the university
staff since 1984, Rawls also serves as an adjunct professor for
the Center for Fashion Merchandising and Interior Design, where
she teaches the Professional Presentations course.
During her
service at Southern Miss, Rawls has served as the coordinator of
Graphic Services for the Teaching Learning Resource Center, as the
team leader of Multimedia Services for the Office of Technology
Resources, and as the Instructional Technologies training and graphics
specialist for the Office of Technology Resources. She continued
her service as the documents and publications specialist for the
Office of the Provost before accepting the position of instructional
designer with the CELT. Rawls is currently serving on the Space
Utilization and Allocation Committee as well as the University Computer
Lab Strategy Committee. She is a member of the Consortium of College
and University Media Centers.
Megan Mulloy
Tousignant was recently named instructional technologies training
specialist with the CELT. A native of Laurel, Tousignant spent two
years in Madison, Wis., working in Web design and desktop publishing
in the Madison Metropolitan school district. Tousignant received
her bachelor's degree in English from Millsaps College in 1997,
and her bachelor's degree in multimedia arts and sciences from the
University of North Carolina-Asheville in 2001. Tousignant currently
resides in Laurel with husband, Gabriel, and their three cats.
