HATTIESBURG – The University of Southern Mississippi’s Department of Economic and Workforce Development, in conjunction with the university’s Trent Lott Center for Economic Development and Entrepreneurship and the Jack and Patti Phillips Workplace Learning and Performance Institute (WLPI), will host its third Web-based series of seminars on Feb. 16 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. CST.

In a continuing effort to focus on best practices for Economic and Workforce Development, the series features Dr. Heather Annulis and Dr. Cyndi Gaudet of the Jack and Patti Phillips Workplace Learning and Performance Institute addressing the topic of “Human Capital Development: Top 10 Reasons to Develop People.”  “In this seminar participants will learn how to translate great workplace practices into improved performance and financial results,” Annulis said. “This interactive presentation will leave participants with a better understanding of the most compelling reasons for organizations to develop their most valuable asset -- people.”

Nationwide, over 90 economic and workforce development professionals have already signed up to participate in the online webinar series.  There is no charge for the first 250 participants that enroll.
