GULFPORT -- Florida Atlanta University, Lynn University and four middle and elementary schools in south Florida have donated 5,000 books to the University of Southern Mississippi’s Gulf Coast library.

The donation consisted of books for the Southern Miss Gulf Coast library, teaching materials for faculty and books for the area public libraries. Also donated were 300 book bags with school supplies, which were distributed to Forrest Heights Boys and Girls Club, Gulfport.

Dr. Robert P. Watson, department of political science at Florida Atlantic University, coordinated the efforts with Southern Miss employees Tom Lansford, Edward McCormack and Sue Reed, executive director of the Coast Boys and Girls Club.
