Research continues as graduate student John Shelley restocks a
tank of sting rays at the University of Southern Mississippi's Gulf
Coast Research Laboratory in Ocean Springs, Miss. Shelley, along
with many other GCRL researchers, lost their study specimens amid
Hurricane Katrina's fury after the storm leveled parts of the research
facility. GCRL suffered more than $50 million in losses from Hurricane
Katrina in buildings, contents, collections and research effort.
