Larry Bellipanni, center, was honored recently for his service to the
University of Southern Mississippi and its Alumni Association. Bellipanni, a former professor of
biological sciences at Southern Miss, served as president of the South Central Mississippi
Alumni Chapter last year, and for more than 40 years was a leading supporter of the Mississippi
Science and Engineering Fairs. Presenting Bellipanni with awards are Kristi Pierce, president of
