Hattiesburg—The
Learning Enhancement Center (LEC) and iTech announce the hiring
of Bonnie Cooper as the new SOAR trainer. Cooper will provide mass
training for SOAR users.
Campus units will continue to provide functional and department
specific SOAR instruction, while Cooper will conduct group sessions
addressing elements common to users with similar roles. Cross-departmental
training will cover such topics as basic navigation, printing transcripts
and SMART sheets, viewing and printing class rosters, entering grades,
running queries, and scheduling classes.
Cooper will also be responsible for associated SOAR and SOARFIN
training functions, including workshop scheduling and administration,
follow-up support, and maintenance of online training resources.
After earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
in Marketing from Mississippi College, Cooper served as a trainer/installer
for several specialized software companies and as controller for
a local manufacturing plant. Since joining Southern Miss she has
held positions in Sponsored Programs Administration, OTR’s Instructional
Media Unit (which eventually evolved into the Learning Enhancement
Center), and the Special Collections Library.
Sessions for SOAR are currently being planned. Schedules of available
programs and online registration will be found in SOAR (SOAR login
> Self Service > Employee > Tasks > SOAR/SOARFIN training).
In addition, online documentation for SOAR and SOARFIN is now available
