Long Beach—AmeriCorps volunteer Kayla Jensen of Golden, Colo., works to secure
a Bear Creek Fitness Trail station designed to assist participants
with stretching. Ten AmeriCorps volunteers from across the United
States are assisting with construction of the trail at the Gulf
Park campus in Long Beach. When completed the trail will be open
to the public and is designed to accommodate people with or without
disabilities in an effort to facilitate physical fitness in an outdoor
setting. The project is under the direction of the Southern Miss
Technology Learning Center, home of the Toy Library. (Submitted
