GULFPORT—The
Live Oak Writing Project at the University of Southern Mississippi
Gulf Coast will host two summer writing workshops in June.
Titled “Teachers
Becoming Writers,” the sessions will begin Thursday and Friday,
June 1 and 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Southern Miss Gulf Coast
Student Service Center, Room 119. Presenter Mary Edelen, Live Oak
Writing Project teacher consultant, will discuss free writing, personal
writing, assessment techniques, and getting rid of writer’s block.
The second session
will begin Thursday and Friday, June 8 and 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
in the same location. Presenter Richard Benton, also a teacher consultant,
will discuss poetry, journal and essay writing, and revision techniques.
The cost of
each session is $30, and CEU credit is available for an additional
$20 fee.
