by BRITTANY PASSONS
A dead poem,
Stillborn and only half finished,
Is abruptly abandoned
Upon a whim of its dissatisfied writer.
An unloved stillborn,
Half-formed and clumsy,
Is left to rot in a paper casket
Without even a title as a headstone
Or a date to mark its tiny nameless passing.
Brittany Passons is an undergraduate at the University of Southern Mississippi. She spends most of her free time entertaining her two adorable children, Aiden and Adelaide. She loves to write poetry and started writing when she was eleven years old.
