Kinesiotherapy Clinical Training Program

 

Gain the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the health care system as a knowledgeable, qualified and capable therapist that stands out among allied
health care professionals.This clinical internship upholds the highest standards for clinical training that best reflects the scope and standards of practice for the Kinesiotherapy profession.

             and progression of therapeutic exercise techniques and
             interventions for specialized medical populations.

             effective documentation, plan of care, legal aspects,
             professional behavior, safety and resource management.

     •      Upon completion of the program, you are eligible to take the registered
             Kinesiotherapy exam.

     •      The average annual salary of Kinesiotherapists is $65,000.

Registration Requirements

  • Master’s degree in the exercise science or related field with completion of the following core coursework: 
         Human Anatomy
         Human Physiology
         First Aid
         General Psychology
         Exercise Physiology
         Biomechanic and/or Kinesiology
         Motor Learning or Growth and Development
         Therapeutic Exercise or Adaptive Physical  Education
         Statistics or Research Methods
         Organization/Administration of Kinesiotherapy Online Module
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5 or greater on a 4.0 scale.
  • Minimum of 100 hours of documented rehabilitation related observation clinical hours prior to acceptance by the Center of Excellence.


Registration Fees

      Fee: $1,500

Refund and Cancellation

Refund requests must be made no less than 30 days prior to program start date. Requests must be made in writing to Southern Miss Office of Professional Development and Educational Outreach and mailed to 118 College Drive #5136, Hattiesburg, MS 39406-0001 or faxed to 601.266.5839. A $500 processing fee will be assessed on all refund requests.
