The Industrial Audiometry and Hearing
Conservation Workshop courses are specifically designed for industrial nurses, safety engineers, and other personnel responsible for initiating programs to comply with the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) regulations
applicable to noise and hearing loss. Participants learn to test hearing and to establish hearing conservation programs in the workplace. This training meets the requirements for the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC). The curriculum is devised in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) No. 29, Part 1910.95.
The University of Southern Mississippi has provided this training for the past 37 years, successfully training many industrial hearing conservationists in Mississippi and surrounding states.
The workshop director is Bob Rhodes, Ph.D., CAOHC #670. Dr. Rhodes is an approved CAOHC course director. He has been directing industrial audiometry workshops since 1971. Rhodes is one of the top 10 in number of technicians trained in the past four years.
