Dr. Brett E. Kemker is an Assistant Provost and Associate Professor in the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences. Dr. Kemker was honored and recognized as outstanding faculty at Florida State University as the recipient of the University Advising Award in 2002 and for his excellence in research in 1999 and 2000. Additionally, Dr. Kemker proudly served as a faculty senator at FSU. Dr. Kemker is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and holds a certificate of clinical competence in audiology from the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association.

Dr. Kemker has been recognized by the American Academy of Audiology for notable contributions to research literature. Dr. Kemker has presented and contributed to over 50 scientific and technical papers at local, state, regional, national, and international conferences. Dr. Kemker is published in many top tier journals such as the Journal of the American Academy of Audiology, Brain and Language, andthe medical Journal of Neuro-Ophthalmology. He has guided undergraduate and graduate student research projects culminating in publications and presentations at the local, state, national, and international level. 

Dr. Kemker’s current interests are in the areas of college student persistence.
