Academic Planning Group

In late January 2009, Provost Bob Lyman redirected the charge of an existing committee formed to review academic program planning for The University of Southern Mississippi. Dr. Lyman expanded the membership of the committee and tasked it with addressing the budget challenges facing the institution for Fiscal Year 2010.

The Academic Planning Group is comprised of 23 members, drawn from the faculty, staff, administration and students. The APG will meet weekly to address its tasks and, through this website, will keep the Southern Miss community informed of its progress. The APG seeks to solicit ideas for institutional responses to the budget situation and invites the Southern Miss community to use the Ideas for Southern Miss suggestion box or to contact members of the committee directly.
