Welcome to the website for the Marine Mammal Behavior and Cognition Laboratory at the University of Southern Mississippi.
The laboratory is housed in the Department of Psychology and is directed by Professor Stan Kuczaj. Active members of the laboratory include a highly dedicated group of graduate students, undergraduate students, interns, and volunteers, as well as our collaborators and colleagues from USM and around the world. The mission of the laboratory is to conduct non-invasive research on the behavior and abilities of marine mammals in order to increase our understanding of these remarkable animals. In order to place this understanding in a comparative perspective, we also study other species ranging from dogs to elephants.
We hope you find this website helpful whether you are interested in graduate school, internship or volunteer opportunities, or simply learning more about dolphins and other marine mammal species.
