The University of Southern Mississippi Department of Psychology offers a Marine Mammal Behavior and Cognition internship to college juniors, seniors and recent graduates. There are three available internships periods each year that correspond to university semesters: Spring, Summer, and Fall. College credits for the internship are awarded by The University of Southern Mississippi. Interns work on research projects being conducted by faculty members and graduate students, and may gain experience in both behavioral and acoustic data collection and analyses. Specific experiences depend on the research projects that are ongoing at the time of the internship. The internship is a full time voluntary position, and students are responsible for their own transportation and housing arrangements.
