COMMENTARY ON THE AFTERMATH OF TERRORISM

Ray Monsour Scurfield, DSW, Assistant Professor, School of Social Work, Southern Miss Gulf Coast, has written two documents regarding post-traumatic reactions to the terrorists' acts of September 11, 2001. Reactions, Dynamics and Issues Regarding the Terrorist Acts of September 11, 2001, was written as a discussion guide to help students, families and others process their reactions. The second document, Commentary About the Terrorist Act of September 11, 2001: Post-Traumatic Reactions and Issues, elaborates on various reactions and issues from Dr. Scurfield's perspective as a third-generation Syrian-American, Vietnam veteran and an expert in war-related, post-traumatic stress disorder.
