Fellowship Applications for Spring 2010 Now Available
Fellowship applications for the QEP Faculty Development Seminar for spring 2010 are now available. As part of the University of Southern Mississippi’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), Finding a Voice: Improving Oral and Written Competencies, Southern Miss faculty have the opportunity to participate in a faculty development seminar designed to enhance student learning outcomes in oral and written communication in content courses across disciplines. The 10-week seminar focuses on the philosophical elements of pedagogical development, as well as the practical planning and production of oral and written components in the classroom. Faculty members teaching general education classes, including capstone courses, are especially encouraged to apply.
Twelve faculty members will be selected to participate in each section of the seminar. Upon completion of seminar requirements, participants receive either a $1500 stipend or reassigned time. (For faculty electing reassigned time, departments will be reimbursed $1500.)
Application Instructions: Complete the application linked here. Responses are required for all items. Electronic submission is preferred, but a printable application may be downloaded and submitted to the Office of Quality Enhancement (USM Box 10046; International Center 517).
After completing the information online, you will be asked to e-mail a copy of your vita as an attachment to qep@usm.edu and note your chair's e-mail address in the cc line indicating his/her support of your application.
Applications for the Spring 2010 seminar will be received through Wednesday, September 30, 2009. Late applications will be considered on a space-available basis.
