The purpose of the Mississippi Teacher Educators in Special Education is to engage teacher education faculty around the state in order to develop a vision for special education teacher preparation which reflects current best practices as well as state and federal needs, priorities, and mandates. All faculty members involved in the preparation of special educators may join. We also invite others interested in issues related to preparing Special Educators to join.
The Collaborative is sponsored by Mississippi ’s State Personnel Development Grant “Realizing Excellence for ALL Children in Mississippi ”, or REACH-MS. This grant was awarded to the Mississippi Department of Education, Office of Special Education and is funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs (Grant No. H323AO50005).
