Outdoor Facilities

Intramural Sports Complex
The Intramural Sports Complex features four lighted flag football/softball/soccer fields, a full-support concession building, rest room facilities and maintenance support areas. Many of the intramural games and sports club events take place here.

Pride Field
Pride field is located adjacent to the Payne Center. It is the home of the Pride of Mississippi, Southern Miss's outstanding marching band. Also, on any day, you're likely to catch Southern Miss students or faculty playing Frisbee or football, having a picnic, or chillin' in the shade.

Bruce and Virginia Wilgus Fitness and Wellness Trail
Located within a serene setting, the Bruce and Virginia Wilgus Fitness and Wellness Trail provides an exercise space that takes advantage of the natural beauty of the Southern Miss campus. This trail, conveniently located adjacent to the Payne Center, provides leisure and exercise opportunities for the entire family in a safe and well-maintained environment. Fully lighted, the trail includes park benches, maps, Code-Blue Security phones and concrete pads that will house exercise stations in the future. The trail is open for walking, in-line skating, jogging and cycling. The trail is available to students, faculty and staff, as well as members of the Hattiesburg and surrounding communities. Two and a half laps of the entire figure-eight trail equals one mile. Five laps of the East loop equal one mile, and seven laps of the West loop also equal one mile.
