Co-Rec Bowling Rules

A full team is 4 players (2 men and 2 women).  Teams must have at least 3 players to participate (2 men and 1 woman or 2 women and 1 man).

Cost of Bowling

The cost of bowling will be an average of $5.75 per person (based on four people per team).   Each team is responsible for paying $23.00 per night.  The money will cover three games of bowling for four people, including shoes.

Procedure of Signing In

The money should be collected by the team captain and paid all at once before play starts.  Teams need to see an Intramural Supervisor to sign in and pay their money and then see Hub Bowling Lanes Staff to rent their shoes.

Team Captain-Authority, Responsibility, and Duties

The team captain is responsible for the eligibility, conduct, and attendance of his/her team. The Captain is responsible for the collection and payment of any fees. He/She is responsible for the validity of the team score sheets after having the score audited by the opposing team’s captain.  Each captain will sign the score sheet after completion of play.

Position Standings

Games will be won by total pin fall for all three matches. Teams with the highest total score for all three matches will advance to the next round.

Tie for Place in Standings

If teams are tied at the end of the match, the team that won the greatest number of games will win the match.  If the number of games won is tied, then the team with the highest total score for a given game will win the match.

Starting Time

Hub Bowling Lanes will be used Monday-Thursday from 10:00 p.m. until 12:15 a.m.  Teams need to arrive around 9:45 p.m. to check-in with the Intramural Supervisor.  Games will begin at 10:00 p.m.

Forfeit Policy

If a team fails to appear with the required minimum number of players, ready to play, at the scheduled location at the scheduled start of the game, a member of the Intramural Sports Staff will declare the contest a forfeit.  Teams that forfeit will receive an ‘F’ for sportsmanship and will be required to pay $15 to the Recreational Sports Office prior to the registration of any other intramural sports teams.  Teams are only allowed one forfeit per sport per season.  If a team forfeits twice, it will be removed from the league for the remainder of the season.

Default Policy

If a team knows that they will be unable to play a scheduled game, the Team Captain must contact the Intramural Sports Office by 12:00 PM the day of the contest to declare a default.  The defaulting team will receive a loss and a ‘B’ for sportsmanship.  There is no re-entry fee for a default.

Blind Score

A team must have three eligible players present to bowl for all matches. If a team bowls with only three players, the absent 4th player will receive a score of 75 for men and 50 for women for each game. No averages will be kept.

Tardy Players

A player who arrives late, after his/her team has started bowling shall be permitted to begin bowling in the first frame without practice provided both teams have not completed the fifth frame. He/she may not bowl if the fifth frame has already been completed and must use his/her blind score.

Bowling Out
