The University of Southern Mississippi will comply with all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations and standards. Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) is a Department of the Office of the Vice President for Research and is responsible for the campus EH&S programs. The Administration of the University of Southern Mississippi is committed to protecting its students, faculty, staff, the surrounding communities and the environment.
The Director of EH&S has been delegated the responsibility to generate EH&S policies and procedures to maintain compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations. EH&S is responsible for developing and maintaining programs and guidance which promote health, safety, and sound environmental management.
The Department of Environmental Health & Safety provides services to The University of Southern Mississippi to promote a successful research enterprise, a safe teaching environment, and to minimize health and safety impacts to the surrounding communities. This is accomplished through training programs, consultation, working with campus community, as well as compliance with local, state and federal agencies.
