I am interested in a research assistant who can work on government documents related to the Civil War and Reconstruction in Mississippi, with a special interest in the connection between military campaigns and the violence that erupted in the state during Reconstruction. Students will work in the Official Records of the War of Rebellion, newspapers, the records of congressional hearings, and other government documents.
