The University of Southern Mississippi’s Division of Student Affairs officially announced on March 2, 2005, the development of The Village, which will house the current National Pan-Hellenic Conference sororities and the National Pan-Hellenic Council sororities that are recognized student organizations.  Construction of The Village shall take place over a 14-month period with the intent that occupancy will occur during the summer of 2007.
