Professional development opportunities are
provided for educators of USM/RSC. Because
each participant is provided with a variety
of materials, registration is required.
Registration is accepted on a first-come,
first served basis.
Please review the catalog/Web
site carefully and choose training sessions
that meet your needs. Follow your district
and /or school
guidelines to request approval for absences
or professional development leave.
Pay
particular attention to training locations
and to sessions that require multiple days;
100 percent
attendance is required at all
activities.
1. A
registration
form MUST be
completed and submitted by fax or mail.
Forms are available through this
Web page.
Registrations are not accepted by telephone.
2.
Registration confirmation:
Letters confirming enrollment are faxed or
mailed to participants at the school address
upon receipt of the registration form. If a
session is closed due to maximum enrollment,
participants are placed on a waiting list in
the order the registrations are received.
Letters are mailed indicating waiting list
status. If space becomes available,
participants will be contacted by telephone.
If you have not received a notice five days
prior to the workshop date, call the USM/RSC
office at (601)
266-6777.
3.
Cancellation/No Shows: If you are unable to
attend a training session you have
registered for, you must contact USM/RSC 48
hours prior to the start of the program. In
the case of an emergency, have someone from
your school contact USM/RSC staff member.
Please note: Districts are charged a no-show
fee for participants who register and fail
to attend training sessions or do not call
to cancel. USM/RSC may submit all
registration information (attendance,
cancellations, and no-shows) to district
superintendents.
4.
Program Cancellations: USM/RSC and MDE
reserve the right to cancel programs due to
low enrollment or adverse weather
conditions. In the event of a cancellation
due to low enrollment, registrants will be
notified in advance by telephone or fax
provided the information was properly
submitted to the RSC on a registration form
by the registrant.
5.
Training Location: Training sessions are
offered at different locations throughout
the region. Be sure to check the location in
the program description of each training
session. Because training locations are
usually rented facilities, changes may be
made at the demand of the facility operator.
6.
Continuing Education Units (CEUs):
Participants may apply for continuing
education units for approved training
sessions. 100 percent
attendance is required to be eligible to
earn CEU credit. CEUs are provided through
Southern Miss's
Continuing Education Division.
An application fee
is required at registration of the training
session. Participants are responsible for
this cost. |
