Dr. Labat has served as a School Counselor for 4 years in both middle and high school and  high school administrator for 8 years. He is a University of Southern Mississippi Instructional Leadership Fellow and a graduate of the Harvard University Art of Leadership Program. Dr. Labat is a member of The Harvard University Principal's Center. He is also a graduate of the USM Leadership Program on the Gulf Coast (2005).

Scholarship Information for Mississippi Students

The Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning in Mississippi established the Graduate Teacher and the Counseling and School Adminsitration Loan/Scholarship Program (GTS).  The program was designed as an incentive to encourage current licensed classroom teachers in Mississippi's public schools to pursue an advanced degree in education.   

Important Dates

Application Period:  January 1 - March 31

Document Deadline:  March 31

These dates are important as the number of awards and recipients are dependent upon avilable funds and awards are made on a first-come, first-seve basis.
