Teddy Champion

Assistant Professor

Teddy Champion joined the faculty at Southern Miss in 2012 and leads the undergraduate media production sequence.  He received an MFA in film production from Columbia University in 2003 and is a Ph.D. candidate in media studies at the University of Alabama.  Professor Champion has more than 10 years of experience as a documentary producer, production manager and location sound recordist for clients such as A&E, BBC, CMT, E! News, History Channel, National Geographic Channel, NBC and VH1.  His current area of research involves media and entertainment history, with a particular interest in the South and southern content in film and television.
