Applied behavior analysis is an experimental
approach to psychology that is dedicated to understanding
and improving human behavior. Data-based decision-making
is critical in meeting this goal. Assessment and intervention
are accomplished by objectively defining observable behaviors
of social significance, and then hypothesizing and testing
reliable relationships among setting events, antecedent
conditions, and consequent events.
The School Psychology Behavior Analysis
Lab at the University of Southern Mississippi is under the
direction of Heather Sterling-Turner, Ph.D. and supports
functional analysis research.
