In addition to the facilities maintained
by the School Psychology Program, the Department supports
a small-animal colony and modern research facilities within
the Small Animal Facility in the College of Science and
Technology. Two permanent state-of-the-art psychophysiology
laboratories are available: The Psychophysiology Research
Laboratory and The Sleep Research Laboratory.
With the advent of high speed personal computers that can
process data as fast or faster than some mainframe computers
of years ago, most students and faculty use their own computers
for research, including statistical computation. Students
also have access to PCs in a computer lab on the first
floor of our building, as well as various other locations
across campus. The university has a license to provide faculty
and students SPSS-X on their personal computers. Faculty
and students do have full access to a Honeywell Supercomputer
main frame, which is also licensed for all of the major
statistical software packages (BMD-P, SPSS-X, MINITABS,
etc.). Access to the main frame computer is through numerous
terminals in the department and college. Students and faculty
have unlimited use of the supercomputer for university sponsored
activity and research. Fiber optics connections (T1) are
also available in faculty offices for mainframe access through
our computers. The Office of Technology Resources maintains
email and Internet access.
