Scholarships

The ONLINE APPLICATION for College of Science and Technology (CoST) Scholarships for the 2013-14 Academic Year is closed.
(The scholarship application link for 2013-14 closed on March 1, 2014.  Please check back in mid-January 2015 for updates.)

All Applications and Supporting Documents must be received by the deadlines listed below.

College of Science and Technology (CoST) Scholarships are available for current or entering Southern Miss CoST students. Each year, new scholarships are added and some are no longer funded. Therefore, the amount and number of awards depend on the availability of funds, which are confirmed by the Southern Miss Foundation usually in late spring or early summer.

Southern Miss Foundation

Most of these scholarships require a CoST application, which will be available online in mid-January of each year. Although individual Department and School scholarship information is available here on this page, students are encouraged to check with the department or school for changes such as additional requirements, application forms, and/or deadlines.

Applications will be accepted beginning in mid-January of each year. The School of Construction application is due February 1 of each year. All other scholarship applications are due March 1, unless informed otherwise by the departments. If February 1 or March 1 fall on a weekend, then the applications will be accepted up to the following Monday.

Supporting Documents for online Applications for ALL CoST Scholarships (general and from specific departments/schools) must be submitted to the CoST Scholarship Coordinator, located in Bobby Chain Technology Building, room 103.

Helpful Hints

Most Foundation Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic achievement, i.e., the higher your GPA, the stronger your application. Just because you apply for several scholarships, doesn’t mean you will get one. The competition is keen. Make your application and supporting documents as neat and professional looking as possible. Proofread. Include all the required information. If you want to be notified that your application has been received, please send an email message to Ms. Haynes requesting a confirmation.
