Dr. Perigoe is an internationally known educator, researcher and speaker, especially in the areas of assessment and development of listening skills, speech and spoken language and in the use of current sensory technologies, such as cochlear implants as well as all aspects of education of the deaf and hard of hearing.
Dr. Perigoe recently completed the development of a Master's degree program for experienced teachers of the deaf, focusing on the development of auditory skills and spoken language, at the University of Melbourne, Australia. She joins S H S in 2008 as the department develops a similar graduate program for Southern Miss.
