What is the "Basic Technology Literacy Examination" [ B T L E ]? Do I need to take it? When is it offered?

The Basic Technology Literacy Examination is a test of basic computer skills. The examination covers simple applications that include word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail and Internet, presentation software [eg., PowerPoint], and databases.

You may need the test in order to fulfill one of several prerequisites for enrolling in R E F 400 - Public Education in the U.S. and S P E 400 - Psychology and Education of Exceptional Children.


Do I need to take this test in order to obtain a Gold Card?

No if you are an undergraduate speech-language pathology/audiology major [per Dr. Kemker's memo dated June 4, 2007].

Yes if you are an undergraduate education of the deaf major.
