Au.D. students hold 'Town Meeting'

October, 2007- Virginia Berry, Audiology Clinic Coordinator, holds weekly clinic meetings with our first and second year students throughout the academic year.

The meeting on Tuesday, October 16th was special- it was one of those rare times that schedules could be worked out so that all students [ from our first, second, and third year classes ] could get together with faculty in an open forum to discuss common topics of professional interest.

Dr. Brett Kemker, left, and Dr. Steve Oshrin took turns addressing the group.

Dr. Brett Kemker, Department Chair, welcomed the group and provided introductory comments. Dr. Oshrin followed-up with an orientation to our upcoming C A A site visit.

Ms. Berry provided an overview of written suggestions and ideas submitted by students from all of our classes. These will be summarized and addressed as a means of tweaking both our academic and clinical programs.

Our Au.D. program has been up and running for three years now. The ideas submitted for this town meeting are only a few of the many that have been generated by students and used to shape and modify the program since it began in 2005.

Being the multi-tasking "bunch" that we are, our photos also show students and faculty with their pink t-shirts in recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness month. Judges will be here later today to evaluate the department's efforts. Keep your fingers crossed- we want to win!
