| C A I D Sponsors Math Workshop
November 2006- Dr. Hosin Shirvani, Assistant Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction and Special Education, conducted a hands-on workshop on teaching mathematical concepts and operations with the use of manipulatives on Monday, November 20. All attending actively participated using the various materials supplied by Dr. Shirvani.

The research literature strongly recommends the use of manipulatives in establishing quanitative concepts and operations with students who are deaf and hard of hearing. All participants indicated that they acquired useful ideas and applications for teaching. And they enjoyed carrying out the activities.
