July Concert Announced

7/14/09- Dr. Tammy Greer (Psychology) and Dr. Jerry Buisson (Education of the Deaf) invite you (and your students) to see past and present members of A Show of Hands performance on Tuesday, July 14th at 11:00 in the auditorium. The concerts are scheduled to last about an hour and twenty minutes.

There will be songs from the ‘40s to the present; from Broadway and movies; from Louis Armstrong and The Chipmunks; from Bonnie Raitt to Judy Garland; from Motown and disco. And more.

There will be another performance on Wednesday, July 15 at 4:30 in Owings-McQuagge in Room 105 (the auditorium). Bring the kids! We’ll teach them songs and invite them to perform on stage! (Bring your camera!) There will also be audience participation songs.

The motto of A Show of Hands is “Feel the Music, See the Words.” Come see why hearing (and deaf) audiences from Jackson to the Coast offer so many invitations to perform, the group cannot possibly accept them all. We encourage you and your students to attend this artistic and multi-cultural event. The experience may cause you to hear music in a different way and change your perspective.

Students enrolled in Psychology courses this summer can earn extra credit by attending. You may want to offer extra credit (or at least encourage attendance) to students to attend, as well.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Tammy and Jerry
