Effects of iPod Usage on Hearing

Kathryn Jade White

October, 2008- Honor student Kathryn Jade White is working with S H S audiologist Dr. Edward Goshorn in this study. Kathryn will use a spectrum analyzer to examine the volume at which her subjects use their iPods. Those data will be compared to an otoacoustic emissions evaluation of each subject. The results will provide insight into the effects of long termed use of iPods on hearing. We all look forward to the results of this research.

Kathryn is from Bayou Labtre, Alabama [Yes, you've heard of this town before- remember 'Forrest Gump']. Her dad, Roy, is a chemical refinery operator and her mom, Gwen, teaches kindergarten.
