Admission Requirements (From the Office of the Registrar )
Students planning to enter The University of Southern Mississippi as freshmen should submit ACT or SAT test results, along with high school transcripts. Unconditional admission decisions are based on completion of a required core of academic course work, G.P.A. (based on academic core), class rank, and test scores as follows:

• All students completing the College Preparatory Curriculum (CPC) with a minimum of a 3.20 high school CPC and a submitted ACT or SAT score.
• All students completing the College Preparatory Curriculum (CPC) with a minimum of a 2.50 high school GPA on the CPC or a class rank in the top 50%, as well as an ACT score of 16 or higher or a SAT of 770
• All students completing the College Preparatory Curriculum (CPC) with a minimum of a 2.00 high school GPA on the CPC and an ACT score of 18 or higher or a SAT score of 850.

 

Core Requirements
• 4 units of English
• 3 units of mathematics
• 3 units of sciences
• 3 units of social studies
• 2 units of advanced electives
• ½ unit of computer applications

Students not meeting unconditional standards may be considered for admission to the summer developmental program through an interview and screening.
