Creating an Account in CourseSites
Once you have logged in to SOAR and verified your schedule through Southern Miss Online, you will need to create an account in http://coursesites.blackboard.com.
1. To create your CourseSites account, click on the link below or open a Web browser and enter the following URL into the address box:
http://coursesites.blackboard.com
2. If you have never had an account with CourseSites before, search the top of the page for the Login icon and click on it.
3. At the following screen, search the left side for a button labeled Create. Once you have found the button, click on it.
4. The following screen is CourseSites’s Terms of Service. Carefully review the terms and, at the very bottom of the screen, check the box if you are older than thirteen. Then, click the Accept Agreement button.
5. After accepting the Terms of Service, you will be directed to the Create New Account screen. Here, you will provide CourseSites with some personal information.
You MUST include your first name, last name, and a working, current email
address. It is vital that you provide this email address. It will be the primary
means of contact between you and your instructor.
Next, you will need to fill in your Account Information. Choose a Username
and enter it into the Username text box. Then, choose a Password and
enter it into both the Password text box and the Verify Password text
box.
There is a third section titled Other Information. It is not necessary to fill this out. After you have entered the required information indicated above, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the gray button labeled Submit.
Remember, it is vitally important for you to include a working email address that you check frequently. It might also be a good idea to write down your username and password
4. The following message will appear if your account was created successfully. On the right side of the screen, click the gray button labeled OK.
5. This will direct you to the CourseSites interface.
You are now ready to enroll in the SLIS community site- SouthernMiss@TheLibrarySchool!
