How to Locate and Enroll in
SouthernMiss@TheLibrarySchool

SouthernMiss@TheLibrarySchool is the SLIS community on Coursesites that you’ll need to join in order to receive important information about the program.

Once you have created your CourseSites account, you are ready to join SouthernMiss@TheLibrarySchool!

Using the account information you created, log in to CourseSites and you should see the following screen.

1. At the top of the screen, locate the black tab labeled My Courses and click on it.

2. This will bring up the My Courses menu. In the largest of the gray boxes, search for the Browse Course Catalog button and click on it.

3. The Browse Course Catalog page contains a Search Catalog function. Locate this and enter the
word “southern” in the text box.

Click the gray button labeled GO or just hit Enter on your keyboard.

4. In the result list, look for SouthernMissSLIS. When you have located it, look all the way to the right for the gray button labeled Enroll and click on it

IMPORTANT: You will have to obtain the password from the SLIS office before you will be able to enroll.

5.   You may be prompted to accept a certificate for Java Applets. Click Trust, Accept, or Continue depending on what your browser says.

      You will be directed to the Self Enrollment page. It requires the entry of an enrollment access
      code.

      In the Access Code’s text box, enter the password obtained from the SLIS office. Then, find the gray
      button labeled Submit.

6. The next screen will report if your enrollment into SouthernMiss@TheLibrarySchool has been successful.

      Click the gray button labeled OK when you are ready to proceed.

Congratulations! The next screen will be SouthernMiss@TheLibrarySchool. Scroll through and look through the messages while learning the interface.
