About the Program
The Executive Sport Education Alliance is a joint partnership among The University of Southern Mississippi, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and various professional sport organizations. The Alliance targets athletes and sport professionals interested in obtaining an undergraduate or graduate degree through an executive online learning format. We are here to assist you with earning your undergraduate or graduate degree online while maintaining a sports career. Established in 1971, the Southern Miss Sport Education program (Sport Management and Sport Coaching Education), housed in the School of Human Performance and Recreation, is one of the oldest in the United States. Students are exposed to diverse sport education faculty providing a quality educational experience.
Accreditation:
Accreditations by national and regional authorities validate Southern Miss’s quality and dedication to teaching excellence. Accreditation signifies that an institution has a purpose appropriate to higher education and has resources, programs and services to accomplish and sustain that purpose.
Overall, accreditation enhances educational quality throughout the nation by ensuring that institutions meet standards established by the higher education community. Southern Miss is accredited by Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the Southern Regional Education Board, National Council for Accreditation for Teacher Education, as well as over 25 other academic program accrediting bodies.
